Doctrinal Statement

FOUNTAIN OF LIFE BIBLE CHURCH

A DOCTINAL STATEMENT OF RITES AND ORDINANCES OBSERVED AND TAUGHT BY “FOUNTAIN OF LIFE BIBLE CHURCH”

Firmly accepts and teaches the fundamental evangelical doctrines of the inspiration of the Bible, that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative, sufficient, efficient, Word of God. The personality of the Holy Spirit, the virgin birth, the deity of Christ, the sin pardoning value of His atonement, His resurrection from the tomb, ascension and personal visible return and the resurrection, both of the just and unjust (John 5:28-29; 1 Thess. 4:13-18). That God and His power are unchanging, “That Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” (Heb. 13:8; Mal. 3:6). Thus preaching and teaching the gospel message to all believers unto whom He has given gifts (Eph. 4:8-13; 1 Cor. 12:1-11).

Observes the following New Testament rites: Baptism of penitent believers by immersion and accepts members by previous and divers baptism when approved by the church board (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38; Heb. 6:1-3); Feet-washing (John 13:1-20; 1 Tim. 5:10); Love Feast (Luke 22:20; John 13:4; 1 Cor. 11:17-34; Jude 12); Communion (Matt. 26:26-30); The Christian salutation (Rom. 16:16; Acts 20:37); The anointing for healing in the name of the Lord (James 5:13-18; Mark 6:13); Laying on of hands (Acts 8:17; 19:6; 1 Tim. 4:14). These rites representative of spiritual facts which are obtained in the lives of true believers, and as such are essential factors in the development of the Christian life.

Emphasizes daily devotion for the individual, and family worship for the home (Eph. 6:18-20; Phil. 4:8-9); stewardship of time, talents and money (Matt. 25:14-30); taking care of the fatherless, widows, poor, sick and aged (Acts 6:1-7).

Opposes on Scriptural grounds: all appearances of evil, knowing to do right and neglecting it (1 Thess. 5:22; Jas. 4:17): temperance in all things (Titus 2:2; Gal. 5:19-26; Eph. 5:18); Going to law, especially against our Christian brethren (1 Cor. 6:1-9); divorce and re-marriage except for scriptural reasons (Matt. 19:9; 1 Cor. 7:10-17); every form of oath (Matt. 5:33-37; James 5:12); membership in secret oath bound societies (II Cor. 6:14-18); games of chance and sinful amusements (1 Thess. 5:22; 1 Pet. 2:11; Rom. 12:17).

Labors earnestly, in harmony with the Great Commission, for the evangelization of the world, for the conversion of men to Jesus Christ, and for the realization of the life of Jesus Christ in every believer (Matt. 28:18-20; Mark 16:14-18; II Cor. 3:18).
Fountain of Life Bible Church, Inc. is adamantly opposed to same sex relationships as well as same sex marriage based solely on historic Biblical doctrine and teaching.

       Maintains the Old and New Testament, the Holy Scriptures, as its only creed, in harmony with which the above brief doctrinal statement and the following statement of faith is made.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE

THAT The Holy Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments is the final and supreme authority in faith and life, and being inspired by God, is inerrant in the original writings: that special revelation is a voluntary self-disclosure of God, propositional in content and necessary for salvation.

IN God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, this trinity being one God, eternally existing in three persons, this Godhead being totally sovereign.

IN The deity of Jesus Christ, that He is coeternal and coequal with God the Father. We believe the Bible record of His virgin birth, sinless life, words, works, vicarious death, bodily resurrection and ascension, and promise of His personal return. Christ came into the world to provide salvation for His people through faith in Him as Savior and Lord;

THAT The origin of man was by fiat of God in the act of creation as related in the book of Genesis; that he as created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred physical and spiritual death.

THAT All human beings are born with a depraved nature and are lost and at enmity with God. By virtue of this spiritual death all men are totally unable to do that which is meritorious in God’s sight and cannot even prepare themselves for salvation. Salvation is by Grace through Faith in Christ who His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree;

THAT The Lord Jesus is the Head of the church, which is composed of all His true disciples, and in Him is invested supremely all power for its government. According to His commandment, Christians are to associate themselves into particular assemblies or churches; and to each of these churches He hath given needful authority for administering that order, discipline, and worship which He hath appointed;

THAT Christian living is to recognize our utter dependence upon the power of the Holy Spirit to lead us in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. The Christian is to maintain daily an attitude of yieldedness and dependence upon the indwelling Christ, seeking always to obey God’s Word; and seeking to make diligent use of the means of Grace;

THAT Christian service includes the believers personal participation in witnessing, His Christian testimony in a local congregation, and His interest in and support of God’s work and His people everywhere. For a right emphasis on the time, place and object of our Christian stewardship, we look to the Holy Spirit for guidance and leadership;

THAT On the third day after His crucifixion, our Lord Jesus Christ arose from the dead with the same body in which He suffered, with which also He ascended into Heaven, and there sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for the Saints.

THAT Our Lord Jesus Christ will in future history return bodily to this world and shall reign forever; that there shall be a future day of resurrection in which both the redeemed and the damned shall be raised from the dead, the redeemed to enjoy the estate of eternal blessedness, the damned to suffer the eternal torment of retribution.
